Windows 2000 Dial Up Connection Set up
|
|
|
Click on Start, then Settings and then Network and Dial-up Connections.
|
|
|
|
Double click on Make New Connection.
|
|
|
|
Click on Next when the Network Connection Wizard opens.
|
|
|
|
Choose Dial-up to the Internet, click Next
|
|
|
|
Choose I want to set up my connection manually, click Next
|
|
|
|
Choose I connect through a phone line and a modem, click Next
|
|
|
|
Type in the local dialup access number in the Telephone number: field.
Do not enter an Area Code, uncheck Use area code and dialing rules.

Click Next.

Type in your User name: and Password:, click Next.
|
|
|
|
Type in acs for the Connection name:, click Next.
|
|
|
|
Choose No on Set Up Your Internet Mail Account, click Next.
|
|
|
|
Click Finish.
To connect to the Internet, click Start, then Settings and then Network and Dial-up Connections
and double click the dialup connection you just created.
You can create a shortcut on your desktop by right clicking the dialup connection and left clicking Create Shortcut, you
should then see a small box asking you if you would like the shortcut placed on your desktop, click yes.
